Nationally recognized speakers discussed the impact of chronic disease on the U.S. economy and policy options to reduce the staggering cost of chronic disease.

Partnership for Prevention and WellPoint Foundation, in conjunction with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, hosted congressional briefings in the House and Senate. A new report from Partnership for Prevention found that increasing use of 5 preventive services would save more than 100,000 lives each year in the United States. Speakers discussed the report’s startling findings, the health disparities that exist in prevention, and the policy changes that could increase use of preventive care and reduce health disparities.
