Workplace Wellness Resolution (H. Con. Res 405)

On July 31, 2008, Representatives Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-SD) and Charles Boustany (R-LA) introduced a resolution that will help build congressional awareness of and support for worksite health promotion programs that will improve workers’ health and decrease health care costs.

H. Con. Res. 405 designates the first full week of April as “National Workplace Wellness Week” and recognizes the importance of worksite health promotion programs as a strategy to help maximize employees’ health and wellbeing.

Partnership for Prevention provided technical support in drafting the resolution and worked with Representatives Herseth Sandlin and Boustany and the United States Workplace Wellness Alliance to introduce it.
