Breast Cancer Screening

US Preventive Services Task Force Recommendation
The USPSTF recommends screening mammography, with or without clinical breast examination, every 1-2 years for women aged 40 and older

USPSTF Rating: "B" Recommendation

FACTS:

  • Mammography current prevents 12,000 deaths from breast cancer annually.
  • About 1 in 4 women over age 40 are not getting screening at recommended intervals.
