ImageAshley Coffield is a Senior Policy Fellow and former President of Partnership for Prevention, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to improve people’s health by preventing disease and injury. Partnership’s members include corporations, national health associations, professional societies and state health departments. Ms. Coffield is lead author of two of Partnership’s groundbreaking and distinguished studies. One prioritizes the preventive services recommended by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force according to the services’ health impact and cost effectiveness. The second study identifies a short list of actions Congress could take that would most significantly improve the nation’s health at the best cost. Ms. Coffield’s responsibilities at Partnership include Medicare policy, financing and delivery of disease prevention and health promotion services, and development and application of tools that demonstrate prevention’s value.

Ms. Coffield was formerly the Director of the Washington office of the Center for Children’s Health and the Environment, which is affiliated with New York City’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She was also a health policy analyst for the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and for the Public Health Foundation.

Ms. Coffield holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where she teaches a course in health policy. She also holds a Master’s degree in public administration from Texas A&M University.

Ms. Coffield resides in Memphis, TN and has two children, Henry and Paul. She is currently the volunteer Chair of the Board of Directors of Memphis Regional Planned Parenthood.
